Shade-seeker! Surprisingly, this cactus prefers to stay out of direct sunlight. Seek an area with plenty of light, or with occasional shade during the day for best results.
Life-size! Despite its adorable size, with room to grow, the Blue Myrtle can eventually reach heights of around 5 metres!

This cactus prefers bright light and is happy with some direct sunlight once established, however, be aware that too much direct sun may cause scorching.
Watering
Myrtillocactus geometrizans is drought tolerant. Water sparingly once the soil has dried out to avoid overwatering, as this can lead to waterlogged roots and create the perfect conditions for rot to take hold.
Temperature
Happy anywhere between 10-27°C but happiest in warm conditions. Avoid cold draughts. It can tolerate lower temperatures, but to avoid harming your plant, keep it above 8°C.
Humidity
This cactus will tolerate drier spaces but may suffer in areas with typically high humidity. Keep out of steamy rooms like the kitchen and bathroom.
Feed
Feed with cactus and succulent fertilizer during the summer months.
Height & Growth Rate
Ultimate height in its native environment is anything up to 5m. When grown indoors it should stay at a manageable height for many years. Fast growing.

This cactus is not considered toxic – however the spines are sharp, so please take care when handling the plant.
