Horty Hints
Not shy of the dry! This plant is somewhat more robust and tolerant of neglect. Only water when the soil is 80% dry… Might as well put your feet up then.
Be careful not to overwater your English Ivy, as waterlogged roots are prone to rot!
Cool your jets! Hedra helix Golden Kolibri likes cooler temperatures. Keep it in cooler rooms and away from radiators.
Light
Hedera helix Golden Kolibri is shade tolerant but needs bright, indirect light to grow and to maintain its yellow colour. Its tolerance to a range of lighting makes it a great plant for almost any space.
Watering
Allow your English Ivy to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow to drain. Do not let the plant sit in water as root rot may develop.
Temperature
Hedera helix needs cooler household temperatures to thrive: 10-18°C will give the best results, and 8-25°C can be tolerated.
Humidity
This plant is tolerant of normal household humidity but thrives in slightly higher humidity. Consider occasionally misting your Ivy for best results.
Feed
Apply a weak general purpose fertiliser during the summer.
Height & Growth Rate
Hedera helix can be a particularly fast grower. Trails can grow 2-3 metres indoors. Cut back to maintain the desired length.
Toxicity
Considered toxic if eaten. Keep away from children and animals. Do not consume.
