Not shy of the dry! This plant is somewhat more robust and tolerant of neglect. Only water when the soil is 80% dry… Might as well put your feet up then.
Be careful not to overwater your Grape Ivy, as waterlogged roots are prone to rot!
Pluck or perm! Pinch out the tips to create a bushier plant.
Light
Cissus rhombifolia Ellen Dancia prefers bright, indirect light but can also tolerate some shade which makes it an ideal plant for the home or office.
Watering
Allow your Grape Ivy to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow to drain. Do not let the plant sit in water as root rot may develop.
Temperature
Cissus rhombifolia thrives in normal household temperatures: anything from 10-24°C. Avoid long stays in areas over 30°C however.
Humidity
This plant is tolerant of normal household humidity but thrives in slightly higher humidity. Consider occasionally misting your Grape Ivy for best results.
Feed
Apply a weak general purpose fertiliser during the summer.
Height & Growth Rate
Ellen Dancia is not known to be a particularly fast or slow-grower. Trails can grow to approximately 1.5 metres indoors. Cut back to maintain desired length.
Toxicity
Considered safe for people and pets, however, be aware that the sap can be a slight skin irritant.
